Fanshawe Athletics Mourns Loss of Volleyball Legend Vaughan Peckham
Fanshawe Athletics joins the greater London Volleyball community in mourning the loss of former Falcons Volleyball Varsity Officer and Coach, Vaughan Peckham, who passed away on April 23, 2024 at the age of 77.
Vaughan was the Volleyball Officer from 2002-2012, where he led an incredible 198 student-athletes to be awarded the CCAA National Scholar accolade. As a coach, Vaughan accumulated 221 career wins, won two OCAA bronze medals and was a 4x OCAA West Division Coach of the Year.
Vaughan was a pillar in the London Volleyball community, as the co-founder of Forest City Volleyball club and coached for over 40 years in either post secondary or high school. He also was the captain of the Western Mustangs Varsity Men's Volleyball team in the 1960s.
"With his passion for coaching, Vaughan dedicated his life to shaping the hearts and minds of countless individuals. His tenure as a coach saw unparalleled success, as he not only nurtured athletic talent but also instilled invaluable lessons of discipline, teamwork, and resilience in those under his guidance."
