Fanshawe Men's Hockey Capture OCR RECCup Championship

On March 25/26th, Fanshawe Recreation hosted the 2026 OCR RECCup Hockey Championships which saw teams participate from Georgian College, Humber College, Fleming College, Seneca College, Durham and Ontario Tech Colleges, Trent University, and Lakehead University. 

The women's team earned their spot into the Women's Semi-Final where they played against Trent University. The game finished in a shootout which would see the Trent women's team advance to the finals against DC-OT and unfortunately, end the season for the Fanshawe women. 

The men's team started out with a 0-4 loss against Georgian, but were able to turn things around in their game against Fleming with a final score of 3-0. They continued their success on Day 2 of the tournament, winning games against Lakehead (4-0), and Fleming (4-1), which earned them a spot in the Championship game against Georgian. 

After a close and exiciting game, the Falcons scored the final goal that would secure the Championship title and bring home the coveted REC Cup.
