(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons women's basketball team (2-0) hosted their home opener at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre against the visiting St. Clair Saints (0-1). The Falcons delivered an impressive performance for the hometown crowd, defeating St. Clair 66–50.
Fanshawe's tenacity on all facets of the floor was on full display, as they dominated the Saints by recording 12 more points off turnovers, 13 more rebounds, eight more second-chance points, and a whopping 24 more points in the paint.
Ashlyn Anderson (Latchford, ON) was unstoppable on both ends of the court all night. She finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks, stuffing the stat sheet. Through two games this season, Anderson is averaging 17 points, 13 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.
