Ashlyn Anderson Named OCAA Female Athlete of the Year
The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association has announced the recipient of its 2025–26 Female Athlete of the Year award.
(London, ON) – The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association has announced the recipient of its 2025–26 Female Athlete of the Year award. Falcons women's basketball star Ashlyn Anderson (Latchford, ON) has been honoured as this year's winner of the prestigious award. First introduced in the 1996–97 season, Anderson becomes just the second Falcons women's basketball player to earn the honour, and the fifth Falcon in Fanshawe history (men's and women's combined) to be named OCAA Athlete of the Year.
With the award, Anderson puts a bow on a brilliant season that saw her and the Falcons reach unprecedented heights. Her list of accomplishments in 2025–26 includes:
- CCAA silver medallist (first national medal in Fanshawe women's basketball history)
- CCAA Championship First Team All-Star
- CCAA All-Canadian
- OCAA Champion
- OCAA Championship All-Star
- OCAA West Division First Team All-Star
- OCAA West Division Defensive Player of the Year
- Fanshawe Falcons Female Athlete of the Year
- Falcons single-game rebound record (21)
- Falcons single-season rebounds record (214)
- Falcons single-season blocks record (49)
- OCAA leader in blocks per game (3.1)
- OCAA leader in rebounds per game (13.4)
- OCAA leader in field goal percentage (56.5%)
- Recorded a double-double in every game during the 2026 calendar year
- 31 points, 26 rebounds and 10 blocks in the CCAA national semifinal game
