Fanshawe’s Leinweber Named CCAA All-Canadian
Falcons men’s team places 9th, women’s team places 10th in the nation

(London, Ontario) - The Fanshawe Falcons Cross Country teams competed at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships hosted by Holland College at the Brookvale Nordic Centre in Brookvale, Prince Edward Island, on Saturday, November 8th. Falcons' rookie runner and the Ontario Colleges Athletics Association's (OCAA) men's cross county individual gold medalist, Alex Leinweber (London, ON) finished ninth in the race to earn him prestigious CCAA All-Canadian honours. This is the second year in a row Fanshawe's men's cross country team featured an All-Canadian athlete.
Leinweber finished the race with a time of 26:24 to position himself in the top ten to make the All-Canadian cut. Leinweber lead the way for the Falcons men's team that finished ninth overall in the nation with a team average time of 28:40. Fanshawe's men's team featured Noah Derganc (St. Thomas, ON), Ezra Bender (St. Mary's, ON), Matthew Lindsay (Dorchester, ON), Adam Voisey (Sarnia, ON) and Brennan Roy (Timmins, ON).
The Falcons women's cross country team also cracked the top ten, placing 10th in the women's championship race. Leading the way for Fanshawe was third-year runner Grace Boyce (Markdale, ON) who finished 19th in the six-kilometer race with a time of 24:43. Running with Boyce for the Falcons was Megan Hutson (London, ON), Regan DeWinter (Mississauga, ON), Allie Morden (London, ON) and Cadence Trudeau (Wawa, ON).
In this year's Mixed Team Championship, Fanshawe placed fifth in the standings demonstrating the depth of both the Falcons men's and women's teams as well as coach Sean Tilden's leadership.
